Growth Groups

In the Bible, the early church met frequently in both big gatherings and smaller groups based in a home. We seek to emulate this practice at City Church.

Belonging to a Growth Group

The mission of the church is largely worked out ‘on the ground’ in Growth Groups. They are a place where people worship God, experience Him, develop friendships, serve and care for each other and learn in practical terms what it means to obey and emulate Jesus. People enjoy belonging (and often enjoy eating food too!) Growth Groups expand by reaching out to their community of friends, colleagues, neighbours and relatives.

Leadership

Those who look after Growth Groups are trained and supervised by the church leadership so that they do not become isolated or out of touch with the direction of the rest of City Church. Leadership in the church and the Growth Groups is that of the servant leader (John 13) with every member actively involved.

Vital

We believe that being in a Growth Group is vital in helping you reach your full potential in Christ. One essential aspect of being a member of City Church is to be part of a Growth Group. We trust that with the help of the Holy Spirit we will see a growing, spiritually healthy company of God’s people who witness about the living Jesus in the Cambridge area.
