Foolish, slow and unbelieving: Jesus tears his hair out.

‘He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken!’ Luke 24:25 NIV

It feels like an understatement to say that Jesus obviously felt a little frustrated with how some people were responding to the scriptures.

He seems to have expected them to understand that the prophecies point to Him. To comprhend that in many and various ways the scriptures predicted, foreshadowed, warned and encouraged us that He was coming.

  • Jesus is the greater Joseph whose suffering put him in a position to save multitudes.

  • Jesus is the greater Moses who brings people out of slaver to sin and death.

  • Jesus is the greater Israel who didn’t fall when tempted in the wilderness.

Reading the Bible with our eyes and heart wide open to see Jesus on every page illuminates and enriches our understanding of the Good News and our powerful God who makes it possible!
